Mallorca went ahead in the 11th minute when Martin Valjent netted his third goal of the season. Ibizan goalkeeper Leo Roman kept Real Madrid at bay with a man of the match performance but could do nothing about Kylian Mbappe´s shot midway through the second half. That was goal number 28 for the Frenchman who has been in good goalscoring form in La Liga this season. It looked like Mallorca would hold on for a precious point in their quest for European qualification but it wasn´t to be, in what was Carlo Ancelloti´s last home game before he leaves Madrid to take over the Brazil national side.
