In what was really a must win game for Mallorca, it was good to see coach Arrasate go with a more attacking line-up of 4-2-3-1. Mallorca had yet to win a game with just two points collected from two draws in La Liga. With Mallorcan born Marc Domenech making his full senior debut, it shows that Arrasate is happy to promote youth players from within his ranks. Something he did quite a lot in his time at his former club Osasuna. In fact the youngster set up the only goal of the game after he swapped passes with Asano culminating with the Japanese international slotting cooly past Alaves keeper Sivera.
In the second half, the visitors created several chances to equalize, but Leo Román and the home defense held on to secure the win.
A much needed three points for Mallorca and hopefully that spurs them on to more wins.
